What stands behind the facts on our pages, and how you can check them yourself. Who writes the pages, and why, is in the Editorial policy.
Facts from a page, not from memory
Each figure, rule, price and date on a country page or in a guide is taken from a specific page, and that page is listed under the sources with a link. A fact that no page confirms does not go in. Where we could not confirm something, the page says so: the Egypt page, for example, says that we could not confirm which shops are open in the arrivals hall at Sharm El Sheikh.
Sources with dates
- Every country page and every guide lists at least three sources.
- Most guides say, beside each source, what it was used for and the day it was checked.
- On the country pages, a source that has a publication date, such as a regulator’s announcement, shows it.
The checked date
Country pages, guides and help articles show the day their facts were last checked. It is the day the page was last compared with its sources. An older date means the page has not been checked again since; it does not mean the page is wrong.
Plans and prices
The plans on a country page come from our shop’s own catalogue, with the price you are charged. Each plan card says whether the plan runs on the country’s own network, as our Orange Maroc plans do in Morocco, or roams on partner networks, as our Africa regional plans do. A plan can be chosen only while it is in stock and we can deliver it, and the total with any tax is shown before you pay.
No rankings
We do not rank plans, networks or shops. Where a page compares, it compares things you can see for yourself, such as the data, the days and the price. The words we leave out are checked automatically on every page, in every language.
Installation steps
The installation steps in the help centre name the menus of iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones. Menu names can differ between brands and software versions, and the help articles say where they do. If a step does not match your phone, write to us and we will correct it.
The same facts in every language
Every language shows the same facts as the English page. Numbers, dates, prices and web addresses are compared with the English page automatically.
